I don't know what possessed me to buy this game today? Tower Bloxx Deluxe is not a bad game. It's an interesting diversion, but this game isn't for everyone. Very low-key and Mellow, almost to the point of being dead. Nice uses of the Xbox Avatars, and I did enjoy it for the hour I played, but even I was getting a little bored.
Anyone who is a hardcore gamer, stay away! Seriously don't even look at it. It may come for you in the middle of the night. Anyone who is a causal gamer stay away as well, because you're not going to pay $10 bucks (800 MS points) for this game. Only to say, "That it?".
This game, is for the well rounded, non-fanboy, always trying something new, type of gamer. You know the ones that all game companies, gaming statistics, and the big 3 totally ignore. People like myself.
Gameplay is pretty straight forward. You stack blocks to make tall towers for people to live in. The better the construction (or points) the more people want to live in them. The more people, the bigger the town gets. And there you have it in a nut shell.
There is a little skill involved upon placement of the tower Bloxx. And when I say skill, I mean eye balling it, and pushing the button at the right moment. Oh, and where they allow you to place certain colored buildings, next to other buildings.
It's fun. For an hour, then it's time to move on to something else (or anything else). There are REALLY good games that you play and obsess over. There are "in-between" time waster games you play until the NEXT good game comes out. And then there's these types of games. A non-catagory, non-mentionable, between the "in-between" type of game. And that's 'Tower Bloxx'.
